My favorite activity this year was the reading of the book Ender’s Game because it was an exciting book , and also the best book I have ever read. I didn’t have a least favorite activity. The activity I learned the most from was to be honest the annotating because it actually helped understand what figurative language is. I didn’t expect to learn anything that wasn’t supposed to be learned this year. I also did not want to learn anything that we did not cover in class. What best prepared me for TAKS testing was the reading of novels and the activities that came with it. What prepared me the most for next year was the IR packet. It helps us as students learn something that we will be doing next year. Ender’s Game was my favorite book that we read this year. It had war, aggression, depression, flashbacks, and a lot of action. This is a book that I actually enjoyed reading as a class and by myself. (Scotty Johnson 168)

How do I feel about Ender getting away with murder? Thats a good question. I feel that Ender does take it a little bit to far when he fight because i believe he focuses on hurting the people that hurt him out of the anger that has built up from Peter and other bullies. At first I did think he should be punished but I now see it as self defense because they start the fights and also they try hurting him first so he retaliates by defending his self. If he gets into another fight and kills someone else… it would vary because the last two fights were in self defense and if the next fight he gets into isn’t i think he should get punished for that. If Ender was to be punished I think it shouldn’t be to harsh but it should be something good for wanting to kill someone. If he was to be punished they would have to think who would command the fleet. Can I think of someone that has gotten away with murder? O.J. Simpson got away from the case against him for murder for a few years. It was said to be that O.J. Simpson killed his wife. I can’t exactly remember why he did it. I believe it is wrong to murder anyone no matter what they have done. (Scotty Johnson 230)

Do I think that how the kids get treated at battle school is fair? No, I do not think that how Ender and the other kids are treated is fair. Kids should not have to be isolated and pressured to do something that they don’t want to do. I do think that they are treated abusively because the teachers and some of the commanders put unwanted pressure on kids especialy Ender and his team. The way they are treated is being pressured, unusaully scheduled battles, Pressured, and cheated out of time. I see pressuring as a sign of abuse. Do I think Graff should be reported or stopped? Yes, I do think he should be stopped because the way he is teating ender and his team is unusaul and also cruel. He should be stopped becuase he is the one that makes these kids into monsters. The person I think should stop him is Ender. The reason why is becuase he pressures Ender to where he has to convince his team to go and battle. Ender is said to be the best student there, so Ender would most likely be the right person for the job. (196 Scotty Johnson)

Yes Dink is correct. I think Dink does and does not feel bad about his observation because he helps ender realize that they are trying to make him a military genius and isolating him, I believe that he regrets that he did n’t realize what they were doing to him quick enough. The goals of the children at battle are becoming a good soldier, becoming a commander, or getting iced out. Their goals are different from kids I know because the people I know don not wanna get kicked out. Also, for the most part every one doesn’t want to be a good soldier or a commander, but there are two people that I consider good friends that wants to be like that or better. Their names are Paul.B and Cristo.S. Are the children in the book normal? Well i’d like to believe they are but they aren’t. They are so self centered, selfish, and blind sighted by Battle School that its a shame. A normal child hood to me is when a kid can play, he’ll get hurt but he will heal and also he gets taken care of how a child should be. 195 (Scotty Johnson)

What I Know of censorship in the book is when the government said not to do anything they meant it or it would be a consequence. When they made the law of not reading books they meant and the consequence for that was death, the burning of yours books, burning of your house, or all three in one. How i feel about censorship? I feel that censorship can be just a little bit over rated. Its like every little thing does not have to be censored. Like in the book they censored books. In the book Fahrenheit 451 their government banned books. That is like communism. There are times when censorship is justified. There are also a lot of times when its not justified. In the book things were justified but not the way the should have been handled. In the present day we are aloud to read books and newspapers. Also about what i think about censor ship continued. I think censorship is right at points. Like in school they have explicit websites blocked, chat websites (Facebook, Myspace, and etc…), chat software(Gtalk), and gaming websites also. I believe the point behind the district and/or the school blocking all of those listed above are so we can focus on our school work and also make better grades top better ourselves. No I have not stopped reading today. I think this has occurred because every where I go I have something to read or a book that’s interesting catches my attention.What we can do to get people interested in reading again is make books that people would like to read no matter what it is about. like make books about people favorite superstar or their idol. We should make books about someone a historic person’s life. Like for instance make a remade version of the Martin Luther King Jr. book. Make a remade version of Malcolm X. we could also make book about George Washington and all of the other historic figures like Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great and a lot more. We could also make more books of the myths in Greek mythology. Like Hercules, Perseus, Zeus, Poseidon, and many others. It is like basically writing some about what you want and also some of what the people want and every one would be very happy. Writing to please the people and to please your self sounds like a really great idea and it would, also make a lot of people very happy. The authors of the books do not have to always write about thing that only a few people like. Im just saying we all could write about what different people like. (230 Scotty Johnson)

Have I been jealous of a friend, yes because it seems like they have the perfect life and everything they have ever wanted. The reason I say that is because every time I saw them they had new shoes, new clothes, and the games that I always wanted. Have I ever had a friend jealous of me, Yes I have. The reason why they were jealous of me was they had never know so one to be so stupid in a funny way and get away with it. The reason they say stupid in a funny way is because I am always making people laugh in the stupidest way. What me and my friend did was sit down and talk to each other about it and the friendship did last.(scotty 130 )

If I had to chose a protagonist it Brutus because he shows up more than any one and he is the most talked about character since Caesar is dead. If I had to chose an antagonist I have to would choose Antony because he is fighting for Rome. Another reason why I choose Antony is becuase he is also fighting against the conspiriters who had killed Caesar. If it was not for them Caesar would be the ruler of Rome right now. In time he might have gone mad with power. The conspiriters could have given Caesar a chance to prove hiom self, but they didn’t they murdered him in font of romes good people. Yes, I think the play has been titled correctly because the story was based of f of how caesar fought his way to being know as rome’s next great king. If I could change the title I wouldnt because the should stay the same.(157)

The toughest decision I ever had to make was when I had to choose who would be my best friend. I had to choose between the two and there was alot of anger through out all of this. Then, something hit me. I told the both of them that if it was going to take that much for me to choose who would be my best friend then neither one was my best friend. the reason I said that was because of all of the stress. I think thats what mad brutus decide weather to kill his best friend Julius Caesar. He also had other reasons and those reasons were because he did not want Caesar to become king becasue he would go mad with power and make everyone suffer. The way i compare myself to brutus is that we both were stresssed and it was a constant batlle between the conspiracy and Caesar just like it was between the battle between my friends. I think brutus made the right decision for him becuase he had a good reason. I think I made the right decision because it made to much drama. (192) scotty johnson

The loyalty of your friends is very important because with out loyalty there is nothing besides trust and if you don’t have trust then thats not your real friend. Good times when my friends stood beside me? My friends stood beside me when I was supposed to be getting jumped by a group of guys from my old school. My friends also stood beside me when I used to get bullied. They stuck beside me when I was failing in every class and they helped me pull up my grades. Bad times when my friends did not stick beside are when I got sent to the hospital because I was almost ran over. They also did not stand beside me when I was hospitalized for poisoning and suffering for two broken bones. I believe that i am very loyal to my friends no matter what even if they are mad at me, don’t want to talk to me, or just don’t want me to bother them. I try to help them and I also try to respect there wish and back off, but it is hard to because you really wanna know what has been bothering them. Times when i have let some one down? I believe that i have only let down two people in my life me and my brother. (222) Scotty Johnson
